1950’s French Vintage School Poster – Illustrated by Hélène Poirié – Le Marche
An original 1950’s poster by whimsical French illustrator Hélène Poirié. This particular one is No. 9 – Le Marche. Her drawings are celebrated through simple, joyful activities and interactions – day-to-day routines at home, adventures in travels and discoveries in nature. Her use of colour is vibrant, bold yet delicate and harmonious. Poirié’s series of “elocution” posters were formerly hung in French classrooms to serve as communication aids to young students. The students were expected to describe the scenes and activities from these posters. These posters are over fifty years old therefore minor wear and tear is inevitable. A lovely addition to a playroom or child’s bedroom.Dimensions:
